For me, while I’m glad I went, I’m shy around strangers so it was extremely lonely. If I did it backpacking and staying in hostels I’m sure I’d have met people in the hostels but in my mid-40s, hostels are no longer in my comfort zone. Further, it was not remotely the same as taking a vacation.
