Apple Introduces Core ML | Deep Dojo

With Core ML, Apple has managed to achieve an equivalent of PDF for machine learning. With their .mlmodel format, the company is not venturing into the business of training models (at least not yet). Instead, they have rolled out a meticulously crafted red carpet for models that are already trained. It’s a carpet that deploys across their entire lineup of hardware.

Online 3D Scene Segmentation | Neuroinformatics Group

A major pre-requisite for many robotics tasks is to identify and localize objects within scenes. Our model-free approaches to scene segmentation employs RGBD cameras to segmented highly cluttered scenes in real-time (30 Hz). To this end, we first identify smooth object surfaces and subsequently combine them to form object hypotheses employing basic heuristics such has convexity, shape alignment and color similarity.

About | Standard Ebooks

The Standard Ebooks project is a volunteer driven, not-for-profit effort to produce a collection of high quality, carefully formatted, accessible, open source, and free public domain ebooks that meet or exceed the quality of commercially produced ebooks. The text and cover art in our ebooks is already believed to be in the public domain, and Standard Ebook dedicates its own work to the public domain, thus releasing whole ebooks files themselves into the public domain.
